1311 - 2011

The Dante's Inferno 700th Anniversary celebration started early in both the United States and Italy from 2008 to 2010, with the filming of Dante's Inferno Documented. On May 21, 2008, we celebrated in Cannes, France with both, the first screening as a "work-in-progress" of Dante's Inferno documentary (not a specific name was given at that time) and the screening of the historic first Italian feature film of "L'Inferno", produced in 1911. Celebrities from Italy, Switzerland, England and the United States went to Cannes for this great celebration.

On November 10, 2009 we continued the celebration of the 700th Anniversary of Dante's Inferno during AFM (American Film Market) in Santa Monica, California, USA. It was a great pleasure to not only have a painting exposition of some of our 50 original illustrations, but also getting the admiration of all visitors. It took place at La Cachette, a French Bistro across the street from the Merigot and Lowes Hotels where the AFM took place. During the exposition we had a very nice gathering of celebrities and film industry professionals, who were also pleased to watch a 12-minute preview of the 2-hour long feature film Dante's Inferno Documented, which was shown on a loop during the entire event.

We may organize a new event to continue celebrating the 700th anniversary of Dante's Inferno that will accommodate a large group of people. At that time, we will introduce the newest version of the upcoming and long awaited feature film Dante's Inferno Documented.

The release Dante's Inferno Documented will take place during 2011 to commemorate all fantastic anniversaries listed below:

  • The 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri finishing the writing of Inferno.
  • The 150th anniversary of Gustave Dore illustrations of the entire Divine Comedy.
  • The 100th anniversary of the first Italian feature film "L'Inferno".

More information will be posted soon.
